In the Black Bookkeeping Services Ltd. is a bookkeeping firm in Vernon, BC that provides remote services to clients of different industries and sizes throughout BC. We are professional, fast-paced, and very busy, and growing quickly, and our goal is to provide the highest quality customer service to our clients and ensure our employees are shown value and appreciation.
This is a Part-Time position with a possibility to turn Full-Time.
Our work environment includes:
- 3 to 4 weeks of in-house training*** (depending on individual, training time may vary)
- Remote work after training **applicants must reside in or near Vernon to be considered for this position*
- Casual work attire
- Flexible working hours (*you can chose your shift, shift must be worked Monday to Friday between 6:30am and 6:30pm) No weekend work.
Responsibilities:
- Work with a set list of client files, providing daily, weekly, monthly full-cycle bookkeeping services.
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records for each client
- Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing and posting payments from customers, follow up on past due accounts (if any) for clients, provide AR reports monthly to supervisor
- Conduct bank & credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Handle accounts payable tasks, including vendor payments and expense reimbursements, provide AP report monthly to supervisor
- Communication with clients and their vendors
- Perform monthly GL account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies, using excel
- Payroll for clients (includes calculating wages, taxable benefits, source deductions, employee expense reimbursements, etc)
- Prepare government remittances working papers for supervisor to review and finalize for each client (GST, PST, WCB, EHT, Payroll Source Deductions)
- Prepare payroll year end forms (T4 & T4A Slips)
- Work with supervisor to prepare and finalize the year end & working papers to send to accountant
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a multi-client bookkeeper or experience in a similar high-paced public practice, bookkeeper role
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
- Proficient in using QUICKBOOKS ONLINE and MS Office applications (Outlook, One drive, Teams, Excel, Word)
- Intermediate EXCEL skillset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- work with minimal supervision
