Job Summary:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist will oversee the receivables process for our property management portfolio, ensuring timely collection, accurate billing, and maintenance of tenant records. This role requires someone with a minimum of 3 years of accounts receivable experience, preferably within property management or a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of accounting principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable functions for a portfolio of properties, including monthly tenant billing, processing payments, and reconciling accounts.
- Monitor tenant accounts for overdue payments, initiate collection activities, and maintain detailed records of tenant communications.
- Collaborate with property managers to resolve billing discrepancies, tenant queries, and payment disputes.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly accounts receivable reports, providing insights on receivables performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations, staying updated on property management best practices and local regulations.
- Assist in year-end financial audits, providing necessary documentation and analysis as required.
- Support the finance team with additional accounting duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounts receivable, with property management experience highly preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with property management software (e.g., Netintegrity, Buildium ) is a plus.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with tenants, property managers, and team members.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
