Our client is currently seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our growing team. The Accounting Clerk will assist other members of the accounting department in processing project invoicing, payables, and payroll as required. The position may also require the Accounting Clerk to assist in project coordinating duties when time permits.
What you will do:
- Compile billing information and prepare job invoices with project managers
- Post invoices in the accounting system
- Leveraging company technologies verify and process payables
- Reconcile credit cards
- Summarize payroll information and process payroll runs
- Review payment details of cash receipts including cheques, wires, and direct deposits
- Prepare and record deposits in accounting system
- Liaise with customer finance and subcontract teams for assistance with payment application / other queries or issues ‐ Assist in project coordinating duties
- Provide additional support to Accounting and Project teams as matters arise
What you bring to the role:
- Knowledge and good understanding of accounting concepts
- Minimum of three (3) years of accounting experience
- Experience in construction, preferably electrical considered an asset
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills
- Flexible team player who demonstrates initiative with the ability to function independently while working in a team environment
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
- Intermediary/advanced skills with MS Excel, Word, Outlook
- Knowledge of Sage 50 would be an advantage
Compensation
Our client offers competitive base compensation, has a Company Health as well as RRSP plan, and hosts many social events for employees and their families. Compensation will be based on experience.
