We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing invoices, recording payments, liaising with customers, and performing various other duties within an accounting department.

Responsibilities
· Create invoices for customer orders placed directly and through our e-commerce sites
· Ensure the correct tax rate is applied to all invoices (both Canada and US tax)
· Review customer set up for accuracy and ensure customers are appropriately set up in Avalara
· Monitor and record customer payments made via wire payments or by cheque
· Request, process record and reconcile credit card payments made by customers
· Notify the order processing team when orders have been paid and can be released
· Perform customer credit checks
· Send customer statements and follow-up regarding payment status
· Generate RMAs for returns and post credits to customer accounts
· Prepare monthly commission reports
· Assist with the recording of intercompany sales transactions
· Prepare month-end reconciliations
· Analyze discrepancies and unpaid invoices
· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly sales tax filings
· Back-up accounts payable for vacation relief as required
· Other duties to support the accounting and sales team, as required
Candidate Profile - Must Have
· Previous experience (minimum 1 year) in an Accounts Receivable position, preferably with invoicing experience
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Experience using Microsoft Excel
· A great attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn
Candidate Profile - Assets
· Experience in applying sales tax, for sales within Canada and to the United States (US sales tax experience is a strong asset!)
· Familiarity with Salesforce, FinancialForce and Avalara
· Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment with inventory

Job type and hours
Full-time position on-site at our Surrey office. Primarily day shift (7am to 330pm), with flexibility to work longer hours as required.
