Group Controller/Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary
Reporting to the CEO and VP of Operations of the Group, this permanent position is responsible for overseeing the financial day-to-day operations and reporting of the Group including lnternal and External reporting, Treasury, Financial Systems, General Accounting, and Payroll. You will be responsible for driving business performance and improving KPls.
Typical Duties
- Provide leadership and guidance to the financial and accounting staff in line with Group objectives.
- Ensure the integrity and reliability of the financial information provided to internal and external stakeholders.
- Review and analyze aged A/R and A/P sub-ledgers and identify any potential issues.
- Oversee month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Present to CEO and VP of Operations any issues or concerns and provide alternatives and recommendations.
- Liaise with external accountants and manage the year-end process to ensure timely availability of financial information.
- Ensure that the Group's cash resources are managed effectively.
- Ensure that the Group is in compliance with the various Canadian government authorities.
- Prepare monthly reporting for banks.
- Work with operations management to ensure that their financial reporting needs are being met.
- Engage with each of the business departments to ensure consistent application of finance processes and policies.
- Producing management KPI reports.
Education
- Professional accounting designation, such as Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA), is required.
Experience
- At least Five years of related, progressive work experience

- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle and prioritize many work assignments at once.
- Excellent computer and communications skills (verbal and written).
- Ability to work well and influence all levels of the organization.
- Ability to see and understand the "big picture" while providing and implementing tactical elements required to achieve the business goals

Pay: $150,000.00-$195,000.00 per year
