We’re looking for an Assurance Senior to join our team. As a Assurance Senior, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with our firm, leading and executing audit engagements for a wide range of clients. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, identifying areas for improvement, and providing strategic insights that drive value for our clients.
Job Duties
· Plan, lead, execute and complete audit files
· Resolve of any contentious and/or sensitive issues arising from the audit work performed
· Prepare clear and succinct reports, including constructive and practical recommendations
· Present positions, findings and recommendations in verbal and written format
· Complete assigned audits within budgeted timeframes, and budgeted costs
· Prepare and review of personal, corporate and trust tax returns
· Undertake special projects and support corporate initiatives
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all organizational levels
· Operate with unrestricted access to records, property and personnel in carrying out assigned audit work; and safeguards the confidentiality of privileged information obtained from these sources
· Review and coach Junior and Intermediate Accountants by reviewing work and providing input and expertise where necessary
· Pursue professional development through continuing education and training, literature reviews, and participation in professional associations
· Perform other duties as assigned if needed
Requirements
- CPA designation
- Ideally 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in the completion of audits, reviews and notice to readers is mandatory
- Effective project management skills
- Knowledge of Caseware, and TaxPrep is required
- Experience in the preparation of corporate tax returns is required and experience in personal tax would be considered an asset.
- Strong interpersonal communication and strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills.
- You must have the ability to learn quickly and perform in a team environment
- Ability to manage priorities and ability to work in a changing environment
