Role Description
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for processing all U.S invoices received from vendors into the accounting system, ensuring accurate and timely data entry and undertaking the payment of all creditors in an efficient and timely manner. They are also responsible for general administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- Receive, process and verify invoices related to accounts payable, ensuring proper coding of vendor invoices to correct job costings and general ledger accounts
- Ensure all required back up and approvals are received
- Review vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and communicate with vendors to resolve discrepancies and provide payment information
- Prepare and process payment run twice per month
- Ensure all AP filing is kept up to date
- Management and ordering of office and cafeteria supplies
- Shipping of documents as required
- Office reception duties including welcoming guests, ensuring sign in sheets are completed, informing the proper person about any visitors or guests
Education / Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
Relevant Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in AP, administrative tasks, or a similar role.
- U.S Accounts Payable experience preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Solid understanding of accounting systems and internal controls
- Detail-oriented with meticulous attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work with a high volume of invoices and tight deadlines
- Ability to process EFT payments
- SAP experience would be an asset
