GeoVerra is seeking a professional and proactive individual to join our talented and collaborative Finance team as an Accounts Payable Administrator. In this role, you will manage the full cycle of the Accounts Payable process and interact closely with both external and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong customer-focused mindset, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This position is eligible to work from home under our Hybrid Work Policy, the Finance team currently meets in the Edmonton office one day per week and would like our new team member to join as well.
What You Will Do
- Review and process vendor invoices and employee expense reports in accordance with GeoVerra’s policies and procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the AP email to ensure timely responses to internal and external enquiries.
- Process weekly and ad hoc payment runs and coordinate on-line bank payments and wire transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Obtain required banking documentation from vendors and accurately enter the information into the ERP system.
- Collaborate with team members to streamline processes and increase efficiencies.
- Support external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Assist with special projects and other finance-related tasks as needed.
What You Will Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Working knowledge of Deltek Vantagepoint or Deltek Vision is considered an asset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills
- Strong time management and prioritization abilities; results oriented
- Collaborative, able to excel in both team and independent environments
- Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated, organized and open minded when it comes to new processes and ideas.
