McCrae Recruiting is seeking a skilled Payroll & Benefits Coordinator for our business partner. This role is crucial in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 200 employees on a weekly basis, along with overseeing the administration of employee benefits. Job Overview:
- Process weekly payroll for 200+ employees, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Perform extensive data entry to maintain and update payroll records (employee hours, deductions, earnings).
- Address payroll inquiries from employees and resolve any issues promptly.
- Ensure timely submission of payroll taxes and statutory obligations.
- Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of payroll data and compliance with company policies.
- Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate records of benefits, including tracking usage and identifying trends.
- Communicate benefits information clearly to employees and handle related inquiries.
- Ensure timely remittance of premiums for group insurance and pension plans.
- Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies and procedures.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management review.
- File WSIB claims and issue premium payments.
- Ensure timely remittance of union dues.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll and benefits legislation to ensure compliance.
- Other administrative tasks as assigned.
Job Benefits:
· Salary $55-65K + based on experience

Job Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
- Knowledge and experience with Payworks or equivalent payroll software.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Strong knowledge of payroll regulations, tax compliance, and benefits programs.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
