Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources/ Payroll Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in various HR functions and play a key role in supporting the Payroll department.
Job Description:
- Prepare, post, and maintain job postings on internal and external recruitment sources.
- Screen resumes, contact potential candidates, book and conduct interviews, and perform reference checks.
- Identify potential sources for recruiting Child and Youth Workers, such as through job fairs, associations, community organizations, advocacy groups, government agencies, colleges and universities.
- Assist with onboarding sessions for newly hired and returning employees.
- Provides HR administrative support which includes drafting employee correspondence e.g., offer letters and disciplinary letters, maintain employee records, etc.
- Assist in practicing and communicating health & safety standards through applicable measures.
- Assist with bookkeeping tasks, such as tracking expenses and reconciling receipts, and supporting payroll.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Executive Director
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in HR and payroll processing.
- Proficient in MS Ofiice and HRIS systems.
- Proficient in Quickbooks and ADP systems.
- Strong knowledge of WSIB, ESA and OHSA regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the social services or child welfare sector is a valuable asset.
