The Work
The HR Coordinator’s role is to provide support in functional areas of the human resources department and to assist in effective coordination of various HR initiatives and projects.
The Core Responsibilities Of The Job:
- HR Administration - 40%
- Prepare, process, and maintain both electronic and paper-based employee files, including archiving, in compliance with regulations and company standards
- Process and input employee changes into HRIS, including new hires, work status changes, manager changes and any other applicable job-related adjustments
- Evaluate job descriptions according to the job evaluation matrix to determine job level and salary band, as required
- Manage meeting invitations and attendance tracking for HR coordinated meetings and training
- Responsible for taxi chit distribution, records, and reconciliation of invoices
- Prepare new hire materials for employment packages
- Respond to all e-mails/inquiries from staff in a timely fashion and follow-up on outstanding matters
- Act as back-up trainer for internal HR-related training sessions
- Continually review, assess, and improve administrative processes
- Other administrative support to the HR team, as needed
- Assist payroll with timesheets for contractors and over-time
- Create intranet posts as required
- Reviewing mandatory training
- Onboarding – 30%
- Responsible for HR orientation of new employees including gathering and inputting new hire data, and first day coordination, conducting new hire orientations, ensuring smooth transition into EQB and assisting with any trouble shooting
- Emailing new employee survey and using feedback to improve the orientation process
- Pre-start communications
- Support for new hires as needed
- Project Work – 30%
- Assist with summer interns and summer intern activities, including facilitating the feedback process
- Participate and assist with various special projects
- Research various HR programs and initiatives and provide suggestions
- Assist with Social Committee events and any company charity initiatives
- Assist with L&D programs as required
Let's Talk About You!
- Bachelor’s Degree/ post-secondary education with a focus in Human Resources
- 1-3 years of administrative experience
- At least 1 year of human resources experience
- Knowledge of HR functions and practices
- Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce or similar HRIS software is an asset
- CHRP designation would be considered an asset
- Knowledge of relevant government legislation
- Results oriented, self-starter, and ability to work independently and in a team
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Outlook and Word skills
- Excellent record keeping and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all employee, pay and benefit information

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from Equitable Bank’s additional office space located at 351 King Street East, Toronto, ON.
