Fife House is an innovative, client-focused provider of secure and supportive affordable housing and services for people living with HIV/AIDS in Greater Toronto. With approximately 110 staff working across 6 locations, in 2021-2022 Fife House served more than 945 residents and clients by providing supportive and transitional housing programs and outreach programs to homeless clients and their families.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining payroll records. The ideal candidate will have experience with Dayforce and hold a payroll certification, demonstrating a strong knowledge of payroll practices, regulations and legislation as it relates to payroll.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Process bi-weekly payroll for all staff, including salary, hourly, and contract employees, using Dayforce.
· Ensure compliance with federal and provincial payroll regulations and legislation, employment standards, and organizational policies.
· Maintain and update payroll records. Ensure deductions, benefits, and vacation accruals are up to date.
· Reconcile payroll discrepancies, prepare payroll-related reports, and assist with year-end activities such as T4 submissions and the preparation of T4As.
· Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and deductions in a timely and professional manner.
· Generate regular and ad-hoc payroll reports for management, including payroll summaries, tax reports, and benefits cost analysis.
· Conduct payroll audits to ensure accuracy, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
· Assist with internal and external audits by providing detailed payroll data and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
· Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure payroll data is accurate and aligned with financial reports and budgets.
· Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations and update processes as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
· Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation is required.
· Minimum of 2-3 years of payroll administration experience, preferably in a not-for-profit or social services environment.
· Proficiency in Dayforce payroll software is an asset.
· Strong understanding of payroll legislation, tax laws, and employment standards.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile payroll issues and discrepancies.
· Experience generating detailed reports and conducting payroll audits.
· Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
