Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time, permanent Payroll Supervisor. The Payroll Supervisor is responsible for the administration and end to end processing of a biweekly Payroll using Lawson software ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with legislated requirements.
General Accountability
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Supervisor oversees the payroll process/system, and ensures that all policies, procedures and other requirements related to the proper administration of an accurate and timely payroll are met.
The Payroll Supervisor remains informed on employment legislation for both provincial and federal and CRA requirements and changes related to payroll.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain knowledge of current legislation, CAMH policies, Collective Agreements, and database requirements pertaining to earnings and deductions
- Liaise with all internal and external partners for payroll and payroll liabilities to ensure payroll accuracy, payroll policies and procedures
- Responsible for a wide range of payroll functions related to employment of unionized and non-unionized hourly and salaried employees. Including but not limited to processing
- Maintain confidentiality and privacy of information
- Process payroll and manager Payroll Email in box on rotating basis
- Audit and analyze payroll reports, reconcile payroll information for T4 purposes and payroll liabilities for the general ledger
- Prepares third party remittances and various payroll reports.
- Validates reviews and reconciles the hours from the timekeeping system to final pay register.
- Process payout requests, adjustments, deductions, and garnishments as necessary*
- Ensure that all payments, deductions, remittances and dues are accurate, submitted on time and are in accordance with the Federal and Provincial legislation.

Job Requirements
- College diploma in Business, Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation, with 3 - 5 years of payroll experience, in-house processing an asset
- Strong Knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications and demonstrated understanding of in-house systems / software
- Strong organizational skills, including effective time management
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment meeting tight deadlines
- Sensitivity to the needs of customers with a focus on service excellence
- Ability to work effectively in a wide range of settings with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Direct experience with Lawson payroll software is preferred
- Bilingualism (French/English) and/or proficiency in a second language is an asset
