We have an exciting career opportunity for a full-time Controller to join our team at our dealership on Merivale Road in Ottawa. We offer competitive compensation ($100,000 - $125,000 base plus commission per year), comprehensive benefits, and a collaborative work environment.
This is an in-person, on-site position at our dealership located on Merivale Road in Ottawa.
Overview:
The Controller oversees all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, and forecasting for our group of companies which consists of three Harley-Davidson dealerships.
Reports to: Dealer Principal
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
- Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships.
- Prepare financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Collaborate with other departments to analyze financial data and provide insights for decision making.
- Process bi-weekly payroll, manage employee records, prepare ROE’s and T4’s.
- Prepare and submit government sales tax and WSIB returns.
- Learn the Dealer Management Software (all modules) used by the group. Maintain settings and update procedures to ensure proper accounting and tracking of all departments.
- Stay up to date with accounting regulations and best practices.
- Train, mentor and supervise members of the accounting staff.

- Bilingual (English/French) is an asset.
- Highly motivated and ambitious.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting preferred.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Controller or similar role.
- Proficient in using accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and financial reporting standards.
- Thorough knowledge of all relevant Federal, Provincial, and local requirements regarding financial records.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office products (particularly Excel).
- Management or supervisory experience is an asset.
