Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to and under the direction of the Director, Campus Services, the Campus Services Financial Officer is responsible for budget preparation and the ongoing monitoring of departmental financial activity to ensure that financial performance meets budget. The incumbent also handles administrative duties related to the department and performs other duties as required.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and produce financial data is essential.
- High accuracy is most important.
- Meticulous attention to details.
- Demonstrated ability in office coordination, budget experience aligned with the ability to make sound decisions, initiate action, implement and coordinate work independently with a minimal degree of supervision.
- Demonstrated superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Solid knowledge of Banner and FAST.
- Solid knowledge of maintenance and equipment CMMS software.
- Solid knowledge of inventory practices related to Campus bookstore.
- Sound knowledge of relevant software such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook/Exchange, or other applications as required.
- Sound judgment and the ability to make recommendations on financial issues.
- Confidentiality in handling financial information.
Education and Experience:
The above is normally acquired through :
- Completion of three years of post-secondary education, including a minimum of two years in an accredited accounting program or an acceptable combination of education and experience or equivalent
- Five years’ experience in the areas of financial and budget analysis (purchasing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, finance) system.
