Legal Bookkeeper/ Accountant
Gibson Piazza Anders is a legal firm, providing services in real estate law, litigation, and corporate and family law.
We are growing and need a second bookkeeper. The candidate will work alongside the incumbent, reporting to the Controller, a CA-CPA.
Profile
The ideal accountant will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience performing bookkeeping for law firms.
- Proficiency using legal accounting software (CosmoLex, Closer & Unity).
Responsibilities
This is an in-person (not remote, and not hybrid) role, located at our downtown office. Your tasks will include:
- Closings - recording disbursements and payments, and coordinating bank runs;
- Generating invoices for all matter owners and all types of law;
- Reconciling Trust and General accounts;
- Posting Accounts Payable;
- Posting firm receipts to Trust and to General accounts;
- Record transactions in bank accounts and for corporate credit cards;
- Such further and other accounting and bookkeeping duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time;
- Record disbursements on behalf of clients to appropriate matters; and
- Other bookkeeping and administrative activities as directed from time to time.
