Your opportunity:
Under the supervision of Director, Finance and Facilities, the Financial and Payroll Assistant will support the day-to-day financial and payroll administration for the Faculty. You will work closely withour Finance team to provide a broad range of financial and payroll services and support, including coordination of payroll processing for casual research staff, posting and monitoring financial transactions, and maintaining payroll and financial records.Your enthusiasm, superior organizational skills and attention to detail will contribute to our success.
Your responsibilities will include:

Acting as the first point of contact for payroll related enquiries
-
Entering salary and/or personnel information in HRIS
-
Identifying and resolving individual data anomalies and discrepancies
-
Collecting supporting documentation required for payroll and/or HRIS processing
-
Keeping well-informed on changes to policies, procedures, collective agreements, and applicable legislated requirements
-
Applying the generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks
Essential Qualifications:
-
Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in business/accounting or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.

Minimum three years directly related experience in payroll/accounting/finance, preferably in an academic and/or legal environment
-
Experience processing payroll in HRIS
-
Experience interpreting and applying financial policies
-
Demonstrated experience working with a high volume of transactions in a fast paced environment
-
Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
-
Demonstrated experience with SAP systems including Financial Information Systems (FIS), Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines and priorities; strong organizational skills

Exceptional attention to detail
