Job overview
This is a Maternity Leave replacement position for 12 months with the possibility of extension. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will be responsible for performing accounts payable and receivable data processing, account reconciliations and assisting the Finance Department with daily accounting duties.
Key duties and responsibilities
· Entry and processing of accounts payable transactions
· Sending accounts payable remittances to vendors
· Preparation of credit card reconciliation
· Payment of accounts payable transactions
· Prepare bi-weekly payroll and benefits administration
· Assist with month end close and reporting
· Assist with internal and external reporting requirements, government remittances, etc.
· Preparing balance sheet reconciliations
· Assist in the preparation of process documentation
· Provide input and help implement best practices in finance operations
· Other duties as required
Qualifications
· Diploma in Finance/Accounting
· 3+ years of accounting experience
· Strong attention to detail, organization skills
· Effective communication skills
· Proficient with Excel
· Experience with payroll processing and ADP, Encompass would be an asset
