Who You'll Work With
Ready to dive into the world of payroll and benefits? As the Payroll Analyst you'll be reporting directly to the Payroll & Benefits Manager. You're not alone in this – you'll be collaborating with various business leaders, tackling tricky payroll issues, and being the go-to person for our employees' pay-related queries. Plus, you'll be rubbing shoulders with external partners and keeping our benefits provider in check to make sure everyone's smiling.
What You'll Be Doing
Picture this: you're the ace in the HR and Finance teams' pocket, ensuring our hardworking employees get their dues on time and with precision all across Canada and US. You'll be the behind-the-scenes hero handling things like deductions, remittances, and reports to keep the payroll gears running smoothly. Not stopping there, you'll also handle the nitty-gritty of employee benefits enrollments through our trusty HRIS, making sure all the numbers align perfectly for benefits and payroll. And to keep things spick and span, you'll whip up monthly reports for benefit premiums, so our benefit carriers get what's due. Topping it off, you'll be crafting headcount and other essential reports, just like a pro.
Specifically, the Payroll Analyst will:

Process semi-monthly/Monthly payroll for hourly, salary and contractor employees

Onboard, maintain and terminate employees as required

Resolve payroll errors and correct issues for employees

Identifying any areas of improvement within the payroll process and leading the implementation of new payroll processes and systems

Working with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure the benefits and payroll services are delivered at best practice standards

Maintains the integrity of the payroll database, ensuring compliance with established procedures and internal controls

Prepares accurate recording of payroll commissions expenses and allocations in accounting system

Preparation of month, quarter and year-end payroll reconciliations, analysis and reporting

Formulating, documenting and updating operating procedures (SOPs)

Ensuring payroll billing, i.e. benefits are sent for timely payment

Triaging the group email inbox
What You Need to Be Successful
-
Proficient knowledge of general software such as Word, PowerPoint; and Management Reporter software
-
Intermediate Excel skills (lookups, pivots, sumifs, etc.)

Knowledge of payroll processes and related reporting

Comfortable analyzing data, spotting numerical errors and identifying trends

Excellent technical skills, self-starter, goal-oriented and able to manage deadlines and deliverables

A disciplined work ethic with respect to confidentiality, time management, organizational skills and written and verbal communication with all peers, subordinates and Senior Management

Excellent critical analysis and problem solving and prioritization skills
What You Need to Stand Out

1+ years of experience with ADP WFN
-
Experience working with Sunlife benefits and their portal
-
Bilingual (French and English) is an asset but not required
