POSITION OVERVIEW
Kensington Health is seeking a permanent full-time Accountant to join our team. The Accountant provides crucial support to the finance department, handling tasks like document maintenance, bank reconciliations, balance sheets and revenue reconciliation. They ensure accurate financial records by resolving discrepancies and producing monthly reports for management. Additionally, the role involves improving processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and adhering to safety standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Based on the business situations to record and adjust financial records by using the proper accounting knowledge and sound business judgements.
- Prepare and maintain accounting documents and records.
- Reconcile bank accounts and various balance sheet accounts including credit card accounts.
- Maintain Fixed assets, prepaid expense accounts and rent payments schedule.
- Maintain cash flow.
- Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies.
- Produce monthly reports from AP & AR to help management to identify missing accruals, bad debt expense.
- Assist in the month-end closing and reconcile and post bi-weekly payroll transactions.
- File GST/HST and property tax rebates.
- Maintain effective internal controls and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Work with cross functional teams to drive improvements and process re-engineering.
- Assist with annual external audit by preparing financial schedules and providing supporting documentation for the auditors.
- Support ad hoc reports and the implementation of reporting tools.
- Responsible for working safely in compliance with accepted safe work practices, procedures and legislated health and safety standards. Employees must: use and wear the equipment, protective devices and personal protective equipment as required; report hazards, accidents, and the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device; attend all required health and safety training; and follow all established safe work procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Knowledge and Experience:

Required Skills & Abilities:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experiences.
- Advanced Excel skills, and proficient with MS Office.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamic 365 Business Central is preferred.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to meet established deadlines with good quality.
- Attention to details.
- Proven capabilities in problem-solving and prioritizing workloads.
Required Professional Designation/Certificate:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA Certification is required.

Pension Plan:
Effective start date, employees qualify to enroll in HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan).
Working hours:
Day shifts, Monday to Friday, no forced overtime.
Compensation:
Based on experience + competitive benefits package.
