- Processes all payrolls for the company which includes on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls.
- Collects and processes employee time and attendance data. Calculates and issues employee pay and benefits.
- Analyzes and reconciles payroll transactions to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and payroll tax laws.
- Ensures payroll information is correct by monitoring and auditing each payroll and making any corrections and adjustment needed to ensure employees are paid correctly and all taxes and deductions are correct and in compliance with the law.
- Coordinates with internal and external tax support to ensure accuracy of expat and other payroll tax payments/deductions.
- Supports payroll related harmonization projects, working in collaboration with Head of Payroll (e.g. commission, bonus, vacation accrual, company holidays, pay day alignment)
- Maintains payroll guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
- Supports automation and integration system initiatives with third party providers (401K, GL Integration with SAP).
- Proposes system efficiencies and enhancements by partnering with the HRIS team.
- Acts as single point of contact for Workday payroll technical questions, in relation to interfaces with OSV, ADP and Benefit providers (e.g. HSA spent, Medical/dental)
- Creates standard reports for internal clients: Accounting, Analytics (e.g. payroll flux analysis and audit/reconciliation reports for 401K).
- Acts as technical lead for any Workday system upgrade and new acquisition in collaboration with HRIS.
- Leads and/or executes analysis and testing for payroll system modifications in case of system upgrade.
- Maintains operational/quality measures and payroll business metrics and associated controls.
- Responds to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits and benefits.
- Handles annual and quarterly processes such as W-2 preparation.
- Prepares and distributes payroll reports
- Collaborates with HR and accounting teams to ensure accuracy
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent, with an Associates or Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting preferred
- CPM from the-h-American Payroll Association required
- Five plus years payroll experience processing standard payrolls.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Workday and ADP systems experience required.
- Experience in a shared services center, preferred.
- Experience with relocation gross-ups and taxation required
- Ad hoc reporting skills required to compile and report on fringe benefit taxationExperience working with financial and benefit plan auditors
- Experience measuring, tracking and driving payroll service quality.
- Extensive multi-state, province and local tax knowledge with proven experience with registration and updates.
