About The Role
BE Power Equipment Inc. has been experiencing excellent annual growth year over year. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and working closely with the CFO, Director of Finance and FP&A team, you will act as a key go-to person for any day-to-day accounting matters for our Canadian and US operations. The role supports most aspects of the finance department, including AP and AR functions. The candidate plays an important role in providing information for the continued growth of the business.
Requirements
What we would like to see from you:
- Manage period end process, including review of journal entries, bank reconciliations, rebates calculations, and more
- Review reconciliation of accounts on a monthly and annual basis, review of balance sheet accounts and schedules, including multiple intercompany accounts
- Ensure integrity of GL, and identify and prevent discrepancies
- Prepare financial statements - including review of margins, SG&A, foreign exchange, and more
- Analyze financial results - actual to budget, monthly, quarterly, YTD, YOY, identifying trends and recommending actions to management team
- Manage various statutory reporting requirements
- Heavily involved in year-end audit activities
- Participate in cash flow planning involving multiple currencies (CAD, USD, EUR, RMB)
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecast for bi-weekly issuance of bank loans
- Prepare bank margining calculations and bank covenants
- Participate in mentoring and training AP and AR teams, providing feedback, and assisting in developing objectives and plans
- Maintain monthly checklists, procedures, controls, and signoffs
- Assist in continuous improvement activities, from idea generating to implementation
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
- Assist in bookkeeping of other group entities as necessary
- Perform other reporting and ad hoc requests as required
Our ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
- Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Designated CPA with a minimum of 2 years in Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller capacity in a high volume, deadline driven environment
- ERP experience is a must; solid knowledge of Microsoft Office; excellent proficiency in Excel in particular
- Experience in complex multi-entity and multi-currency environment
- Excellent interpersonal and superior communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP and full cycle accounting
- Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy and the ability to multi-task
- Organized, self-driven, reliable, analytical thinking, and able to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively
- Passion for finding solutions to problems is a must, showing initiative and ownership in every aspect of the job
