Recruiting Solutions by Deborah Zsebok is recruiting for a Full Time SENIOR PAYROLL MANAGER who has proven experience in a similar role to work on behalf of our Leamington, Ontario - Agriculture (if not currently living in this area, relocation would be required).
Must have:
- Both Canadian and USA payroll experience at a senior level (1200 person headcount)
- Must have own vehicle (mileage reimbursed) due to some travel between company greenhouses all in Leamington, Ontario
Pay Rate:
- salary + benefits, vacation, RRSP matching
Full Time:
- Monday-Friday (40-44 hours/week)
- 10 emergency days and 15 hours appointment time per year
- Onsite lunch program with company chef and subsidized lunches
Responsibilities for the on-site Full Time SENIOR PAYROLL MANAGER include:
- Being a strong team player who is detail oriented and who thrives in an environment which encourages innovation / process improvement and results.
- Driving the bi-weekly payroll process, year end and compliance with Canadian and USA payroll regulations. (1200 person headcount)
- Perform tasks related to the analysis and execution of payroll processing while maintaining the utmost of confidentiality in dealing with employee records and business information.
- As the most senior payroll person in the company, you will be accountable to ensure the timely delivery of payroll, fostering strong collaborative relationships with Human Resources and Finance, and ensuring compliance with all relevant federal / provincial regulations and taxable benefits.
- Processing terminations, ROE’s and T4’s.
- Prepare, calculate and reconcile all payroll taxes, WSIB, EHT and RRSP remittances.
- Work with the Health and Safety team to monitor WSIB claims and statements.
- Investigate payroll related questions to provide accurate and timely resolutions.
- Act as liaison with all government agencies and external auditors.

Required experience for the on-site Full Time SENIOR PAYROLL MANAGER
includes:
- A minimum of 5+ years of progressive Payroll experience for a large organization.
- ADP software or transferrable software skill.
- Preferred Certified Payroll Manager OR Payroll Compliance Practitioner designation.
- Sound fundamental knowledge of payroll policies, practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with and ability to interpret and apply employment legislation to payroll.
- Adherence to the highest standards of ethical practice in retaining individual privacy.
- Exceptional communication abilities, active listening skills and written communication skills.
- Strong relationship management and influencing skills at all levels; getting results with and through others.
- Ability to identify issues and problem-solve independently using appropriate resources internally and externally.
- Display strong initiative and able to work independently with little direction within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under strict deadlines and ensure timely follow-up.
- Valid drivers license and use of personal vehicle to drive between multiple company owned greenhouses in Leamington, mileage reimbursement.
- Must be available to work flexible hours including weekends and extended hours if needed.
