We are looking for a Financial Analyst, Corporate Accounting who will perform journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation within the accounting operations function at Aviva Canada.

What you'll do:

Support accounting team in the month-end and year-end closing processes. Primary responsibilities include processing of partnership commission, posting journal entries for owned brokers, Road Assist program and various other adjustments. This role is also responsible for GL account reconciliations and handling related audit queries.

Own broker accounting journal entries.

Handle partnership commission process and payments.

Process journal entries related to Road Assist program & run off claims for Warranty programs.

Assist on Corporate accounting month-end activities like posting of IBNR journal entries and late adjustments.

Assist the Manager, Corporate Accounting in all tasks related to month end close and balance sheet reconciliations thereafter.
What you'll bring:
-
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in accounting.

Enrolled in & working towards CPA designation.

1- 2 years proven experience in accounting and or reporting. Working experience with any ERP general ledger system preferred.

Knowledge of the P&C insurance industry is an asset.

Solid understanding of reporting tools and Balance sheet reconciliation systems.

Good understanding of the various aspects of accounting operations and account reconciliations is a must.

Ability and passion to improve processes while simultaneously delivering under tight timelines.

The salary band for this position ranges from $54,500 to $101,100. Please note that individual salary is determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience, as well as internal equity.
