Description:
Wicehtowak Frontec Services is seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team in Jansen, SK. The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining overall financial and accounting records for the camp and verifies the procedures used for recording financial transactions.
Where We Work and Live:
The Jansen Discovery Lodge is a workforce housing facility in support of the Jansen potash mine. The camp is located 155 kilometers east of Saskatoon, SK.
Our positions work on a 14 day on, 7 days off rotation. Accommodations and meals during your work rotations are provided by the company.
Responsibilities:
- Verifies and posts purchase invoices and debit notes, if any; sees to it that the entries have correct accounts and department codes, correct information and correct amounts
- Verifies and posts sales invoices and credit memos, if any; sees to it that the entries have correct accounts and department codes, correct information and correct amounts; controls that all regular monthly invoices are posted to the corresponding month and vendor
- Checks the lodges monthly reports and sees to it that the reports tallied with accounting figures; reconciles with various supervisors if there are problems with their monthly reports - any discrepancies need to be explained
- Prepares monthly entries for all transactions concerning cessions ins and outs, movements, back charges, physical inventory end, floating stock; prints and distributes to the supervisors of each units the monthly ending physical inventory and floating stocks
- Completes clearing of general ledger accounts and petty cash
- Prepares charges and statements, daily cash outs and bank deposits
- Assists/prepares reports as requested
- Enters contracts into the booking and lodging system
- Completes reconciliation with clients as required
- Actively involved in ensuring they are following safe and sound procedures and are adhering to government regulations as well as Health and Safety, policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in accounting/finance is an asset
- 3-5 years’ experience working in accounting, finance or an accounts payable/receivable role is preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Professional and curious demeanor
- Proficient using MS Office software including Excel
