Biomed Recovery & Disposal Ltd. is hiring for the position of Bookkeeper to work as an integral member of the accounting team at our main operations in Aberdeen, SK.

Job Description:
As a Bookkeeper, you will report directly to the Assistant General Manager. Working in our accounting department, the accountant is jointly responsible for all aspects of full cycle accounting. You will work as a member of a small accounting team to:
· ensure compliance with GAAP
· run payroll in compliance with provincial and federal legislation and regulations
· follow internal accounts receivable procedures to create accurate customer invoices and follow up with delinquent accounts
· assist inventory control with equipment or product purchases and tracking assets
· verify and maintain vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions with the inventory control clerk
· follow internal accounts payable procedures to issue purchase orders and receive, process, verify, pay, and reconcile vendor invoices
· confirm subcontractor billed working hours and project purchases
· work with the shipper/receiver to verify receipt of purchases
· maintain historical records of all invoices, reports, receipts, and cheques by saving documents properly on a shared drive
· reconcile credit card and bank account statements
· remit income tax, source deductions and GST to Revenue Canada
· remit PST through SETS
· produce timely and accurate financial statements as needed
· Any other duties as necessary
All job duties are expected to be performed to the highest standards. This position requires a team member with the following key attributes:
· Experience with QuickBooks
· 2+ years’ experience and/or certification in accounting
· Excellent computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word)
· Self-motivated
· Detail oriented
· Ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently
· Organizational skills
· Team oriented
A successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal record check, at the expense of the company. We evaluate these checks on a case-by-case basis.
Work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm.
Accounting staff are expected to work on site in Aberdeen; working remotely is not an option.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and training.
