We are seeking a part-time senior payroll and benefits person to work approximately 12 – 16 hours per week. Days and timing of hours with the exception of payroll submission days are flexible. This role is a hybrid role so some work can be completed at home and some office time will be required. This is a hybrid position and in order to be considered as a candidate, you must live within driving distance to Vancouver, British Columbia.
You have a minimum of 5 year’s payroll and benefits experience, plus a payroll compliance professional designation (PCP) or equivalent. You are employee-focused and pride yourself in providing excellent service to all your internal customers. You are also a team player, detailed- oriented, thorough, able to meet deadlines consistently, and have excellent communication skills.
Key duties include:
· Preparing semi-monthly payrolls register accurately and submitting on time to ADP
· Verifying timesheets, overtime, and other pay elements
· Ensuring proper calculations of earnings, deductions, taxes and adjustments
· Processing new hires, terminations, and status changes in ADP
· Coordinating payroll deductions for benefits, pensions, and other contributions
· Liaising with benefit providers for updates and discrepancies
· Importing payroll entries to the accounting software
· Reconciling payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies
· Addressing payroll inquiries from employees in a timely and professional manner
· Providing support for audits related to payroll
· Identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes and improve efficiency
· Staying up to date on federal and provincial payroll regulations
· Managing year end processes such as T4A, EHT reporting etc.
· Assisting HR Director on projects, employee events and communications when required
· Performing other related duties when needed.
