Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented contractor or manager with expertise in Ceridian Dayforce to manage payroll processing and reporting on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our payroll operations run smoothly and accurately while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations. Expertise in both US and Canadian payrolls, and 401K reporting is essential. Your role also includes generating reports to monitor payroll metrics, analyze variances, and support strategic decision-making. You will proactively manage payroll-related activities, ensuring that all employee and compliance needs are met efficiently and accurately.
As a member of the enterprise finance and Human Resource team, working in conjunction with the local facility and reporting to the Vice President of People, with dotted line accountability to Chief Financial Officer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the payroll success of the organization. This leadership role focuses on optimizing payroll processing and reporting functions using the Ceridian Dayforce cloud software package.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for Canadian and US employees accurately and on time using Ceridian Dayforce.
- Maintain employee records related to payroll, including hours worked, deductions, and benefits.
- Conduct data entry tasks to ensure all payroll information is up-to-date and accurate.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Generate, analyze, and distribute payroll and labour KPI reports on a recurring and ad-hoc basis.
- Address payroll discrepancies and resolve employee inquiries promptly.
- Collaborate with operational, Human Resource, and finance teams to support payroll-related tasks and reporting.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements and system optimizations.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role in a finance department.
- Proficiency and prior experience with Ceridian Dayforce is essential.
- Strong data entry and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication abilities to effectively interact with employees and management.
- Familiarity with relevant labor laws and regulations regarding payroll processing.
- Previous US and Canadian payroll experience.
