About the Role
The Bookkeeper role at Moment Energy is integral to maintaining and fortifying the financial operations within the organization. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial health and stability of the company through meticulous record-keeping and adherence to accounting principles.
Your role is central to the accurate recording of financial transactions, classification of expenses and income, and maintenance of the general ledger. By performing bank reconciliations, managing accounts receivable and payable, and processing payroll, you will contribute to the overall financial integrity of Moment Energy.
Key responsibilities include generating detailed financial reports, such as income statements and balance sheets, to provide insights into the company's financial performance. You will also play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations, preparing for audits, and supporting tax-related activities.
Collaboration is essential, as you will work closely with other departments and stakeholders to gather information and maintain the accuracy of financial data. Your role is critical in facilitating informed decision-making processes by providing timely and reliable financial information to management.
The Bookkeeper at Moment Energy reports directly to the VP of Finance and Accounting and is fundamental in supporting the organization's growth and success while upholding the highest standards of financial accuracy and integrity.

Required experience:
- Attention to Detail - be committed to thoroughly and accurately addressing every aspect of a task or project.
- Strong Organization - able to organize and maintain clear financial records
- Good communication- able to efficiently and accurately communicate financial information such that internal and external teams have a clear understanding on financial documentation
- Experience with Excel/Google Sheets and data entry
- Experience with accounting statements - Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statements, and Income Statements, General Ledger
- Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll
- Experience in Tax filings, issuing invoices, Journal entries, account reconciliation
- Experience in Xero
- Financial Statements, Bookkeeping, and Journal Entries (Accounting) skills
- Relevant certification such as CPA or equivalent is preferred
- Experience in the cleantech or renewable energy industry is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
