Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a bookkeeper at Inlet Group of Companies in Port Moody, BC. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for handling the day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative needs of the group efficiently and effectively, including maintaining accurate financial records, managing financial and administrative tasks, using accounting software, and making journal entries.
Duties
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Dext for financial record keeping.
- Process accounts receivable invoices, deposit cheques, and complete bank deposits.
- Review accounts receivable reports, and follow up with clients on overdue invoices.
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Process employee expense reports and business credit card reports.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Calculate and file GST and PST returns and remit payments.
- Manage payroll functions and ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Calculate and file monthly payroll deductions.
- Support budgeting activities by compiling financial data and reports.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for the related companies of Inlet Group of Companies.
- Assist in managing office operations, including answering phones, responding to emails and handling general inquiries.
- Organize and maintain digital filing systems.
- Coordinate and schedule travel arrangements.
- Maintain relationships with clients and key vendors.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeper or accountant role.
- Certified QBO and Dext Pro Advisor or advanced proficiency in these software.
- Strong experience with Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Experience working in a professional services industry, an asset.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, required.
- Clean driving record and valid Class 5 BC driver's license, required.
