The Opportunity:
Our client is one of the largest and fastest-growing propane distribution companies in Canada. They are a fast-moving, customer-facing, field-based business operating coast to coast, with over 400 team members. They strive to be the undisputed propane leader in North America.
We are currently supporting them with their search for an Accounts Payable Analyst, who will report to the Accounts Payable Manager. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth invoice processing, managing timely payments, and building strong vendor relationships. You will also help maintain data integrity while keeping our clients finance operations efficient and compliant—your attention to detail will make a big impact!
Our client has an immediate need for a 2–3-month contract assignment.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Invoice Processing: Ensuring invoices are coded correctly, matched with purchase orders, properly approved, and recorded in the accounting system.
- Payment Processing and Control: Preparing a list of items to be paid, verifying them, and preparing them for import into the banking system. Ensuring timely payments, avoiding overpayments or double payments, and adhering to payment schedules.
- Helping to timely record expense reports from company credit cards, and reimbursement to employees in compliance with company policies.
- Vendor Management and Communication: Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with vendors, handling inquiries and disputes, ensuring effective communication to resolve any payment or service issues promptly
- Assisting with Vendor Master Data Management: Ensuring timely, accurate, and complete management of vendor master data, including setting up new vendors, updating existing information, verifying vendor bank accounts, and avoiding duplicates to maintain data integrity.
What You'll Need To Be Successful:
- 3+ years in accounts payable or a related accounting role, with a strong understanding of invoice processing and payment controls.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables).
- Strong attention to accuracy in coding invoices, managing payment schedules, and maintaining vendor master data integrity.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective vendor management and internal collaboration.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.
