We are a local logging/trucking company in the Prince George, BC area, and we are currently looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team.
The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of this fast-paced, high volume accounts payable department.
Accounts Payable Duties:
Process invoices, and reconciling vendor statements to ensure timely and accurate payments.
- Match purchase orders to invoices.
- Code invoices, verify unit numbers and send to the appropriate manager for approval.
- Ensure proper tax charges on invoices.
- Post invoices in Accounts Payable system.
- Reconcile vendor statements with accounts payable ledger and follows up on outstanding items.
- Generate vendor pay and cheque runs.
- Processing invoices and reconciling credit cards.
- Processing intercompany payables, and account reconciliation.
- Manage all insurance requirements including commercial, fleet and permits
- Maintain Payables filing system in a neat and orderly manner.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in accounting/business administration
- preferred 1-3 years’ work experience in accounts payable environment
- Experience with Sage 50, Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Preference given to those applicants with previous commercial/fleet Insurance experience.
- Experience with farming/cattle an asset.
