Our firm is looking for an experienced accounting professional to join the team to manage the day-to-day bookkeeping operations and also work with the leadership team to deliver valuable decision-making information across all company divisions using strategic reporting and analysis . Key Responsibilities:
General
- Monitor the financial performance of the company
- Monitor and manage the flow of sales transaction data
- Assist in preparation of monthly and annual operating budgets
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
- Communicate financial metrics to the leadership team
- Guide financial decisions by establishing and monitoring policies and procedures
- Contribute to and/or complete special projects as assigned
- Perform transactional tasks and interact with clients
- Actively participate in the success of the team
Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that accounts receivable is collected promptly, investigate, adjust and resolve any outstanding balances
- Ensure that all regular bank reconciliations are completed. Investigate, adjust and resolve any outstanding balances
- Complete all bookkeeping tasks monthly
- Process payments received by cheque, credit card, e-transfer and cash
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Maintain a system for filing all documents, invoices, etc. daily
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
Administration & Reporting
- Issue timely and complete interim financial statements for management monthly
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Prepare government returns and remittances and payments including EHT, HST, and WSIB
Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in a private firm, preferably in a B2C, retail or e-commerce environment
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or equivalent
- CPA preferred, CPA enrolled in final stages or recently designated considered an asset
- Ability to perform a wide range of accounting and finance activities, using Quickbooks Online as the key tool
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a dynamic fast-paced environment
- An affinity for exploring and using new software tools to drive continuous improvement
- Experience managing budgets and resources
- Very strong communication, task management, and prioritization skills

Pay: $85,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
