We are looking for a Global Accounting Manager / Controller to grow our Finance team.This is a remote / virtual position based in Southern Ontario.
The Global Accounting Manager / Controller oversees the accounting, financial reporting operations and internal financial control procedures for NorthAmerica (Canada and USA) and Australia / APAC regions (Australia and New Zealand), and manages theConsolidated Financial reporting and management of global accounting, financial policies, and procedures.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead a small team in the performance ofFinancial Transaction Processing (including Customer Billing and Collection, Vendor Invoicing andPayment, Expense Claim Processing, Payroll Processing, Bank, Debit and Credit cardreconciliations, Sales tax processing) for Canada, USA and Australia entities and HoldingCompanies
- Manage month end close procedures (including revenue recognition and accruals, billing and invoicingcutoff, expense accruals, balance sheet adjustments and amortizations, Intercompanyreconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Project P&L reporting, and Financial Statementreporting
- Maintain the global accounting procedures, global chart of accounts and internal financial control policies
- Manage the corporate month end close procedures including researching and booking complex accountingissues/transactions, consolidating the monthly financials, preparing financial reports to management andthe Board of Directors, and other financial reporting when needed
- Manage the tax return preparation for the companies
- Manage any financial statement assurance engagements with third parties
Key Requirements
- Accounting designation
- 3+ years’ experience managing a finance team or finance projects – specifically around month end close,accounting
- Experience managing a Global accounting / finance team would be an asset
- Ability to work with all levels in an organization
