Accounting Assistant - Confidential
The Role
We are a Burlington based company seeking a Accounting Assistant. This role will report to our Senior Accountant, and support our operations in Mexico. Your role will involve:
- Taking ownership of the vendor invoicing process: compiling, verifying and tracking invoices in Microsoft Excel
- Supporting semi-weekly payment runs by organizing invoices and confirming payment approvals
- Liaising regularly with various internal departments to obtain approval for invoices and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor and tracking vendor payment advices to ensure accurate and timely processing
- Reviewing and verifying employee expense reports
- Perform detailed coding of vendor invoices according to purchase order details
- Assist with VAT inquiries from external accounting firms and Mexican tax authorities
- Other tasks as assigned
This is a 12-month contract position based out of our office in Burlington.
What You Offer
- A College diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field
- Knowledge of full-cycle accounting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand Spanish is an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree of discretion and confidentiality
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
