Job Summary
We are searching for a
Junior Staff Accountant to assist our Accounting/Finance team with their day-to-day operations. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role is responsible for the administration of corporate credit card reconciliation, processing of employee expenses, setting up projects in Deltek Vantagepoint, assisting with employee timesheet review, and other accounting tasks as required.
In This Role, You Will
Corporate Credit Cards
- Assist with reconciling the monthly corporate credit card statements, reviewing statement charges with card holders to ensure that the charges are legitimate.
- Assist senior employees with monthly corporate credit card expenses.
Employee Expenses
- Assist with processing employee reimbursable expenses such as travel, meals, mileage and parking on a monthly basis.
Payroll
- Assist Payroll Lead with reviewing and ensuring timely reporting of timesheets.
- Collection of new hire and departing employees’ paperwork.
Accounts Receivable
- Reconcile the AR holdback listing on a monthly basis.
- Assist with entry of daily cash receipts.
- Take deposits to the bank. (A short walk from the office).
Project Administration
- Assist project accountants with project setup, managing sub consultant invoices, and invoicing of travel expenses.
- Transfer hours entering to projects when required and as directed by Project Accountants.
Accounts Payable
- Assist with AP entries for day-to-day invoices.
- Reconcile AP Holdback monthly.
You will be a great fit if you have the following:
- Diploma or degree in accounting preferred.
- Previous experience using engineering or architectural accounting/finance software (Deltek Vantagepoint preferred) desirable.
- Previous experience working in the Engineering, Construction, or Building Design Industry highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in Excel required.
