Reporting directly to the COO, The Sidler Group, the is a critical role that will provide a full range of accounting and bookkeeping functions and support all activities within The Sidler Group of businesses such as, office administration, bookkeeping, private investment management, and property management. This is an ideal position for a trusted bookkeeper and administrative professional who enjoys having close relationships with family shareholders, while maintaining the highest levels of discretion and trust. The Sidler Group consists of multiple, but small businesses in the finance and real estate industry.
An experienced bookkeeper with exceptional organizational skills handling a wide range of tasks concurrently and effectively. You are a self-starter with excellent communication skills. Working in an ever-changing environment is something you thrive on, as there is always something to learn. You like working independently, taking initiatives on projects and using your set of skills to improve processes.
Qualifications
- College Diploma or Bachelors Degree
- Strong knowledge of, and previous experience with Quickbooks Desktop and Quickbooks Online software is required
- Strong PC skills - proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Proven ability to take-action and complete tasks proactively / on-time
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize
- Excellent attention to detail and follow-through skills, taking pride in careful, accurate work
- Respect for confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive information
- Ability to analyze accurately and reconcile accounts
- Access to car and valid license for various office errands (banking, supplies)
Special Consideration Given to those with:
- Previous experience at an accounting firm with exposure to personal tax preparation and knowledge of CaseWare accounting software
- Advanced IT skills (software and hardware knowledge)
- Previous experience in the mortgage industry
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the Business Administrator/Bookkeeper include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Full cycle bookkeeping for various companies of The Sidler Group, as well as external clients (AR, AP, GST/HST, WSIB, Monthly Bank and Credit Card Reconciliations)
- Preparation of commercial lease documents, management of tenant files and rent rolls, assist with new tenant setup including previewing available office space and coordinate lease signing
- Provide executive level administrative support; manage calendars, contacts, email, and phone, filing, and office management
- Managing private investments of The Sidler Group (tracking due dates, corresponding with clients, preparing various investment reports based on existing templates (in Word and Excel)
- Administrative duties such as electronically filing (GST/HST, WSIB, personal tax returns), accessing CRA online accounts to retrieve various mail documents and tax information
