Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to manage the financial transactions and records related to our business's payables and receivables. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections while maintaining strong relationships with vendors, clients, and internal departments. The ideal candidate will also assist with general accounting duties and special projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Process, verify, and record vendor invoices.
- Ensure timely payment of all vendor invoices and expense reports.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain vendor files and update payment terms as required.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure approval processes are followed.
- Assist with monthly closing activities related to payables.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send invoices to customers.
- Record customer payments and reconcile accounts.
- Monitor customer accounts for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
- Follow up on outstanding balances and manage collections efforts.
- Prepare AR aging reports and provide regular updates to management.
Other Duties as Assigned:
- Assist in streamlining and improving the AP and AR processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
- Participate in the annual audit by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
- Support the finance team with ad-hoc projects and tasks.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in both accounts payable and accounts receivable roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Full time permanent
$45,000 - $55,000 depending on experience.
