Job Overview:
Inlet Group of Companies manages a portfolio of businesses including Inlet Technologies Ltd. a technology consulting company and Avanta Business Solutions, a business and finance consulting company. Our mission is to help businesses simplify and streamline their complex administrative environments. With the recent growth in the company, we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will primarily be responsible for handling the day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative needs of the group of companies efficiently and effectively, including maintaining accurate financial records, managing administrative tasks, and coordinating client requests.
Duties:
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks and Dext for financial record keeping.
- Process accounts receivable invoices, deposit cheques, and complete bank deposits.
- Review accounts receivable report, and follow up with clients on overdue invoices.
- Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely payments.
- Process employee expense reports and business credit card reports.
- Maintain relationships with clients and key vendors.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Perform credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Calculate and file GST and PST returns and remit payments.
- Manage payroll functions and ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Calculate and file monthly payroll deductions.
- Support budgeting activities by compiling financial data and reports.
- Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
- Full-cycle bookkeeping for the related companies of Inlet Group of Companies.
- Assist in managing office operations, including answering phones, responding to emails and handling general inquiries.
- Organize and maintain digital filing systems.
- Coordinate and schedule travel arrangements.
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by the Founders.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a bookkeeper or accountant role.
- Certified QBO and Dext Pro Advisor and advanced proficiency in accounting software like QuickBooks, Dext and Xero
- Strong experience with Microsoft software (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Experience working in a professional services industry, an asset.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, required.
- Clean driving record and valid Class 5 BC driver's license, required.
