Job Description:
Salary
$30.734 - $33.265
Schedule Days, Monday - Friday
Shift 8 hours
Exepected Number of hours (not a guarentee): 37.5hr per week
Position Summary:

Responsible for calculation and processing of bi-weekly payroll for 1500 union and non-union employees using Meditech

Specialized calculations including pension, maternity leave, garnishments, vacation and retroactive pay

Maintain payroll master file changes
-
Ensure accurate payroll deductions and withholdings
-
Calculate and remit all withholdings/group billings and reconcile to general ledger
-
Completion of Records of Employment using ROE Web

Auditing of timecards and payroll reports including processing of adjustments as required

Completion of month-end and year-end tasks with regard to strict deadlines is essential

Assist with preparation and annual reconciliations including T4’s, WSIB, HOOPP, EHT

Effective communication with directors, managers and employees regarding payroll information and responding to payroll questions
The physical demands of the role may include but are not limited to prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing and pulling. This position contributes to ensuring there is a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

Skills and Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree/diploma, Payroll Compliance Practioner Certification (PCP)

Minimum 2 years payroll experience processing a large payroll including T4’s and remittances required

Strong mathematical ability

Experience with Meditech payroll/financial system is preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ability to prepare adhoc reports

Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Accurate data entry skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet strict deadlines

Ability to work co-operatively as part of a team and work independently
- Strong problem identification and resolution skills
