Health and Safety/Human Resource Coordinator
RanN Maintenance is a construction company that works across Ontario. We are looking for a Human Resource and Safety Coordinator to join our team. The Health and Safety/Human Resource Coordinator is responsible for providing operational support for all health and safety and human resource requirements of the company. We are looking for someone who likes to work in a fast paced environment, has great organizational skills and who has an eye for detail.
Responsibilities
Health and Safety Role
- Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements regarding workplace health and safety and provide summaries to management team to conduct action planning
- Maintain and update employer on new Health and Safety policies and procedures in order to keep workers and management informed
- Review/revise the company’s health and safety manual, as required
- Attend training seminars, which may involve travel
- Perform/assist in accident and incident investigations, as per the company’s health and safety programs and ensure investigation notes are properly validated, approved and filed
- Update and maintain worker’s training records; schedule training for employees when needed
- Follow-up on all injuries, near misses, and hazards; and work with the Manager to review feedback and develop corrective actions
- Ensure health and safety boards are up to date
- Help organize and attend safety meetings including the Joint Health and Safety Committee meetings and prepare agendas, take minutes, etc.
- Conduct regular reports and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety designation
Human Resource Role
- Conduct all aspects of the recruitment, selection and orientation process including, by not limited, to job posting, interviewing, reference checks, hiring, preparation of payroll and orientation documents, etc.
- Prepare and conduct new and returning worker orientations, training, a
- Ensure all employee documents are completed properly (both hard copy and electronically), filed, and processed through payroll administration as required.
- Streamline and make improvement recommendations for various HR-related functions, processes, and procedures.
- Ensure up to date knowledge on Human Resource regulations, changes or requirements and provide summaries to management team for action planning.
- Shared reception/office duties
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years experience in a human resource role
- Knowledge of the road construction industry.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work load
- Strong organization and time management skills
- The ability to use technology including computers and computer software (i.e., Microsoft Office) as well as the ability to learn new and company-specific computer programs
- Experience with the COR accreditation process an asset
- High level of self motivation and initiative
- Able to communicate competently and effectively in the English language
- The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Administration skills – in order to keep accurate and detailed safety records
- Health and Safety experience, is an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
