To support our growing operations, we are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant with experience in Sage 50 accounting software.
Job Summary: We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bookkeeper and Administrative Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Sage 50 and will be responsible for maintaining financial records, processing invoices, managing payroll, and providing administrative support as needed. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the success of our company and grow professionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using Sage 50.
Record financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Prepare and reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
Generate financial reports for management review.
Payroll Processing: Manage employee payroll, including calculating hours, deductions, and tax withholdings. Ensure payroll compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process supplier invoices, verify accuracy, and prepare payments. Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding invoices.
Administrative Support: Assist with general administrative tasks, including data entry, filing, and correspondence. Answer phone calls, handle inquiries, and direct calls to the appropriate parties. Support management in various administrative functions.
Financial Analysis: Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
Analyze financial data to identify trends and anomalies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a bookkeeper or administrative assistant.
- Proficiency in Sage 50 accounting software is required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with the lumber or pallet industry is a plus.
