- Toronto (East-York) Property Management company looking for a Property Accountant / Property Administrator to help administer and manage growing owned and third-party commercial and residential (non-condo portfolio.)
The position is ideal for a candidate who enjoys having the broad scope of property & tenant management responsibilities, and can work in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and proper collection of rent, additional rent/TMI, and accounting of commercial and residential rent, and ensure enforcement of lease rights and obligations.
- Day-to-day bookkeeping / accounting working along with Accountant / Controller, and administrative support personnel.
- Liaise with the commercial and residential tenants on day-to-day property management issues.
- Monitor work order/service request from tenants and ensure that they are completed properly and cost effectively, together with the Property Manager and Maintenance manager
- Account for all operating and capital expenses (utilities, taxes, maintenance, insurance etc) as required by the Head Accountant, in accordance with GAAP and industry-specific standards.
- Ensure that utilities usage are appropriately monitored
- Assist in managing / supervising of maintenance and cleaning staff; timesheet entry, logging and materials billing.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly reporting package to owners and other stakeholders.
- Bank and inter-company account reconciliations.
- Ensure timely payment of suppliers, contractors, service providers, utilities.
- Report to ownership and management on a regular basis.
- Preparing various financial review and analysis when required.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Yardi and Quickbooks
- Experience in commercial and residential (non-condominium) property management
- Experience in enforcing the Residential Tenancies Act & navigating the Landlord and Tenant Board requirements & tribunals.
- Some technical knowledge of building systems – electrical, HVAC, elevator etc.
- Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Office Excel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong organizational skills
- Record of excellent time management and cost control
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
- An accounting designation is strongly recommended.
NOTE: There are NO "work-from-home" options. This is 100% "work-from-office".
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $40,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
