Overview:
This position will be providing support to two of our manufacturing locations, Milton Ontario & Vancouver, British Columbia.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing a variety of functions including recruitment, labour relations, benefits administration and performance management. This role is responsible for fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with company policies. Integrity, attention to detail, strong customer service and interpersonal skills are all crucial for this role.
Key Ingredients:
- Acts as a strategic partner in providing employee relations advice, support and guidance with respect to the HR policies, and interpretation and compliance with legislation to assist all departments in achieving their operational goals;

Meet regularly with people leaders to provide regular updates on recruitment, address performance and employee relations concerns, discuss the status of business goal achievement, and review metrics for the groups in the assigned portfolio

Administration and documentation of company pay structures and participates in the maintenance of payroll data base and back up documentation including day to day benefits administration and answering any questions or claim issues
- Communicate to internal stakeholders regarding Human Resources policies, procedures, legal updates, standards and regulations.

Conduct investigations into allegations of misconduct, performance deficiencies and/or workplace harassment and present findings

Administer the hourly benefits program, resolving issues, liaising between employees & service provider as required.

Provides disability management guidance to managers, including facilitating return to work (RTW) meetings to ensure accommodations and the RTW schedule are appropriate. Monitors the RTW and provides updates to relevant parties.

Full cycle recruitment for Operations (hourly) Accountable for job posting, screen, interview and recommend candidates to supervisors Onboard and orient hourly employees
- Prepare and deliver training for all employees to meet internal requirements and legislated training.
Recipe for Success:
- Successful completion of a Post-secondary education in Human Resources certification combined with HR experience.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as HR Generalist preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Experience with employee compensation, recruitment, employee relations, performance development, training, and employee communications.

You have a strong passion for people and HR and are interested in pursuing your CPHR or already have it or Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation currently in progress.
- Good understanding/working knowledge of Canadian HR policies/procedures, benefits and employee relations

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills

Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion

Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office Suite

Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to prioritize workload, adapt to frequent interruptions and process changes, work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in navigating and processing computer applications such as Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint; Applicant Tracking System; HRIS.
- Able to travel 20% of the time.
