ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
FINANCIAL:
· Assist in Preparing sales reports, statistical results for all companies, and commission reports for sales reps, and sales agents on a monthly basis.
· Month end procedures -Assist in Preparing bank reconciliations for all companies on a monthly basis. Prepare credit card sales reports and postings. Adjust journal entries. Prepare intercompany wage report. Prepare written and verbal financial statement analyses for Mgt. as required.
· Year end procedures- Jointly prepare complete set of accounting year-end working papers for corporate Chartered Accountants annually for all companies. (3-month project). prepare year end financial statements. prepare and file corporate income taxes. Reconcile regular and intercompany payables /receivables. Accruals and deferrals
· Monitor and maintain all bank accounts for all companies including balances, transfers, loans and lines of credit.
· Perform journal entries- Expenses, asset purchases and disposal, depreciation, accruals and intercompany transactions for expenses & wages
· Assist in Reviewing and /or preparing all government remittances as per due dates including: Payroll (Employee Tax, CPP, EI), RRSP&DPSP, HST, WSIB, EHT and corporate income Tax.
· Assist in Reviewing and/or preparing annual report summaries for T4, T4 summary and T4A.
· Preparing record of employment.
· Performing direct deposits
· Assist in Conducting all A/R and A/P reviews monthly or as required. Generate sales orders. purchase orders. Invoice credits. Classify and post payables. Prepare cheque runs and track available funds in the bank. Make collection calls, emails and letters.
· Managing multiple sets of books for several companies
· Assist in Preparing reports for Statistics Canada (Annual Manufacturing Survey, Monthly Sales) and other government agencies and services (as required)
· Assist in Conducting annual bank manager’s review meeting with Royal Bank and liaise with bank personnel as required
· Arrange for additional capital for fixed asset purchases either through financing or leasing.
· Coordinate and or assist in preparation of S.R.E.D. rebate programs
ADMINISTRATIVE:
· Assist with Supervising, delegate, administer activities of the office staff at various branches.
· Report to President as required regarding daily activities at all locations.
· Liaise with all department heads at all company locations as required.
· Liaise with outside financial institutions, insurance companies, suppliers, customers, service bureaus, government agencies, accountants, lawyers, computer programmers/technicians, and other outside solicitations.
· Prepare complete written reviews with all staff on an annual or semi-annual basis.
· Assist in Conducting meetings with office staff to prepare weekly “To do List”
· Assist in Conducting formal review meetings with all office staff annually or semi-annually.
· Assist in interviewing and recruiting of office staff personnel.
· Approve and/or order all office supplies, equipment, and services as required.
· Liaise with U.S sales reps on issues such as: computer hardware and software, insurance, Telephone connections etc.
· Assist in Preparing monthly financial statements for all locations by 15th of the month for the President.
· working on non accounting projects that may arise
· Tracking important deadlines and making sure they are met by the team
· keep accurate and organized records of reports, statements and invoices
· maintaining employee’s application and accounts for RRSP, DPSP, group insurance auto allowance, safety shoes.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
· 5-7 years as Assistant controller required.
· Must have a valid and current CPA designation (Ontario)
· Computer literacy a must, especially word and Excel.
· Business Vison Software experience is required.
· Leadership skills required.
· Excellent organization, communication skills plus good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
EDUCATION:
- Must have a valid and current CPA Ontario designation
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and finance (Must)
