Responsibilities:
· Assist the Senior accountant to summarize the current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
· Assist the Senior Accountant Reconciliation of financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information. Responsible for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings.
· Evaluate reporting systems and financial procedures in place, develop and implement new ones as necessary.
· Assist Senior Accountant for all annual audit and compilation engagements of financial statements.
· Develop and implement internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial and accounting information and prevent fraud.
- Full cycle monthly accounting (A/R,A/P, deposits, cheques, data entry, etc.)
- Perform cash management and maintain banking relationship regarding Borrower payments and Investor remittances.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balance’s subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Process payments received from clients and various departments
- Post daily payment transaction, EFT payment, wire transfers other day to day banking
- Reconciliation of Bank Statements
- Monitor mortgage loan balances, Interest, and other receivables to ensure all amounts due are collected.
- Assist Senior Accountant with preparation of special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
- Experience with financial services software or ERP systems is preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
