We are seeking a qualified pastor with proficient administration skills to support the ministry of The Gate Church, both by overseeing the administrative tasks and by contributing pastorally to various ministries.
This position requires sound theology, pastoral discernment, communications skills, preaching and teaching abilities, servant-hearted leadership, administration skills, organizational strategy, and attention to detail.

Full Time Position (35 Hours a Week)
Tuesday – Friday Day Time & Sunday Mornings
(Some evenings and weekends as required)
Areas of Responsibility
- Volunteer coordination and training
- Weekly communication, including: E-bulletin, website updates, special announcements, social media management, and responding to general emails and phone calls
- Assist in planning and running Sunday Morning services
- Overseeing children’s ministry programming (with the possibility of overseeing other church programs)
- Bookkeeping, bill payments, and payroll
- Occasional expositional preaching and teaching of the Bible
- Assisting the Senior Pastor, staff, and the Board in various administrative tasks as needed, as well as in planning and running special events.
- Member care, connection, and discipleship as needed
- Volunteer work in the community (i.e. serving at the Soup kitchen, etc)
- Facilitate various other tasks (i.e., membership processes, staff meetings, managing office supplies, church document filing, some building management, scheduling events, and coordinating building rentals)
Qualifications
Required:
- A mature, personal, proven, and passionate faith in Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord
- A servant’s heart and a willingness to both, learn from others and to work in a team environment
- Agrees with The Gate Church’s Statement of Faith and the Purpose Statement
- Willing to be flexible with your time, due to the possibility of having meetings and events during evenings, as well as running services during holidays.
- Integrity and ability to work independently
- Minimum 2+ years of training or post-secondary education in Biblical Theology or a related field
- 5+ years experience working and/or volunteering in a church environment
- Proficient computer skills and a willingness to learn new programs or software as needed.
- Communication, public speaking, and public relation skills
Preferred:
- Training and/or experience in administrative work and bookkeeping, including knowledge of Quickbooks, donations, and payroll
- Experience with website and/or graphic design would be considered an asset
- Musical ability (instrument and/or vocal proficiency)
