We’re looking to expand our accounting and finance team in Toronto with an Accounts Payable, Junior Accountant to help with our next stage of growth.
To succeed in this role, you must possess exceptional communication, organizational and analytical skills. You are a resourceful multitasker who enjoys working in a dynamic office environment on weekdays between 8:30am - 5:30pm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Full cycle accounts payable within a manufacturing environment including:
- Invoice processing using 2 and 3 way matching
- Expense reports review and processing
- Weekly payment run (cheques and EFT)
- Credit card analysis, reconciliation, entering credit card transactions into ERP
- Vendor statements reconciliation, addressing vendor inquiries
- AP subledger aging analysis providing quality commentary on aged items
- Process journal entries and/or accounts payable entries for project costs
- Provide support for Accounts Receivable desk
- Reconcile petty cash
- Purchase office supplies and office equipment as requested
- Reconcile corporate business accounts with Amazon, Staples, and others
- Provide administrative support by answering and redirecting Head Office General line calls
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Working knowledge of accounts payable, receivable and bookkeeping
- University or College Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
- Minimum 2 years work experience in accounting
- Ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and analytical ability
- Pro-active, adept problem solver with attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills and time management in prioritizing tasks to meet key deadlines
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel and Word
- Professional and courteous demeanour for client, supplier and staff interactions
- Experience in the manufacturing industry or project accounting is an asset
