SUMMARY
Reporting to the Accounts Payable Supervisor, the Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices in a collaborative team environment. In addition, the Accounts Payable Clerk will have strong analytical skills with the ability to review and identify unusual invoices and communicate closely with the Accounts Payable Supervisor or Manager on any outstanding issues.
EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS
- Match warehouse receipts to applicable supplier invoices.
- Coding and data entry of high-volume freight invoices ensuring appropriate approvals.
- Data entry of supplier and freight invoices on a timely basis, respecting due date and cash discounts (approx. 1,000 invoices per month).
- Coding and data entry of expense payables
- Assist with filing, scanning, photocopying, and faxing for Accounts Payable department.
- Sort and distribute Accounts Payable invoices as required.
- Investigate questions from suppliers and the field as required.
- Reconcile General Ledger accounts as required.
- Cost analysis.
Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Detail oriented and able to analyze and assess situations for the best outcome
- Accurate data entry
- Excellent organizational skills
- Familiar with standard office equipment such as photocopier, adding machine, mail processing, postage machine, fax and scanning equipment
- Able to communicate effectively with internal staff and work in a team-focused environment
- Excellent English communication skills with an emphasis on customer service - written for email correspondence and verbal for phone discussions
- Experience with full-cycle accounting is an asset

EDUCATION
- High school graduation is a requirement
- Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration or Accounting is preferred
