We are currently looking for a highly skilled Controller to join our Accounting team. The Controller is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting and finance operations of the Company, including budgeting, forecasting, accounts receivable and payable, and monthly / quarterly / annual financial reporting, and audits.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role manages a team of accountants, AP/AR professionals, and administration creating a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
General Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for planning, budgeting, and expense management;
- Maintain internal governance procedures for accounting entries, expense approvals, and budget reconciliations;
- Establish (with direction from the CFO) financial and operating benchmarks, departmental budgets, and reporting standards on biweekly, monthly, and annual basis;
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows;
- Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all processes ensuring PCFP follows the correct reporting standards;
- Manage the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams and processes ensuring efficient operations of both teams;
- Manage processes and personnel tasked with responsibility for Inventory Accounting and Valuation;
- Responsible for maintaining company financial ERP system and ancillary reporting-layer software applications;
- Oversee daily and monthly cash management;
- Manage tax payments and filings (Canadian and US tax agencies);
- Prepare year-end audit financial reports and statements for CFO review and approval;
- Partner with Human Resources to issue payroll on a bi-weekly basis;
- Operational accounting functions including analysis and variance investigation;
- Prepare monthly financial information and variance analysis to budget and preparation of monthly reports for the Leadership team;
· Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and drive financial performance; &
· Other duties as assigned.

- Complete bi-annual employee performance reviews.
- Responsible for coaching and performance management of team.

Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of accounting / finance experience.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
- CPA or equivalent designation required.
- Experience with ERP system (Dynamics NAV or Microsoft D365 ERP a plus).
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus.
- Solid understanding of Microsoft Office (Word / PowerPoint / Excel).
- Professional communication and collaborative personality.
- Authorized to work in Canada.
- Proven experience leading and mentoring an administrative finance team.
- Experience with corporate banking, financial reporting, covenants and cash flow monitoring and reporting.
- Experience with creating financial statements.
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close processes.
- Experience with cost accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
- Excellent proficiency with Excel and ERP software tools
- Ability to identify and manage risk and bring issues to the Leadership table with solutions on how to mitigate cost and risk.
- Strong understanding of Canadian tax laws and some familiarity with US tax and trade laws.
